Lunch on the Foreman

While constantly on the move, sometimes you have to make quick decisions on what to eat. Today I had lunch at home. What was on the menu? Fresh Texas Gulf shrimp cooked on a George Foreman grill. I need to keep this meal in heavy rotation. It was a hit (click here for more pix)

Showtime

When Driving around Southern Cal, its almost a daily occurrence that you drive past some type of major film production going on… such as a tv  show, music video, or a motion picture. I pulled over to see what this particular set was all about.  To my surprise, it was for an episode of CSI Miami, which is actually shot in Long Beach. The episode being shot involved a train and  paramedic collision. I’ve never watched the show, so i didn’t know who the actors were. I snapped a few shots and bounced. (click here for more pix)

Seaside Lunch

One of my favorite places to eat is at Ports-o-Call in Long Beach.  Growing up I remember it being a lot more busy. I guess it’s because I slid through on a weekday as opposed to a weekend.  Here you can enjoy the fruits of the local fisherman’s labor. The setting is similar to many other port towns I’ve been to around the world minus the live Mariachis. On this day, I opted for some fresh caught oysters and had them breaded and fried (click here for more pix)

Big Shit Poppin’, Lil’ Shit Stoppin’

Then it was off to see Bart over at 530 Media Lab to go over some ideas for Hussel Premium’s online presence.  For those of you not familiar with 530 , they are the master minds of such online projects including Cr8tive Recreation, Mosley TribesObey , Nike ACG, the Hundreds, and Triumvir;  just to name a few

the LBC….

In route to some meetings out in the LBC, I decided to kill some time and drive around to some familiar landmarks my family and  I would frequent as a kid.  My first stop on this near cloud-less day was at the Queen Mary and Spruce Goose ( click here for pic)

In Good Company

Another one of my meetings while in LA was with the homey Alex down at Elm Company.  We went over some fabric swatches for my upcoming collection. I was also lucky enough to see some sneak peaks of his new “Dead Rabbits”  campaign as well as some previews of a colab between Elm Company and CtotheJL(click here for more pix)

The Alley

I’m not sure if there is any single area in the world that has more Husslas than the Santee Alley in the Fashion district of downtown L.A.  I only took a few camera shots because it not candid friendly place if you know what I mean.  With the air boasting great smells of curbside  empanadas, freshly cooked churros and bacon wrapped hotdogs, you can purchase bootleg dvds, high fashion knock offs,  small animals, $5 sunglasses, and many other goodies. One of my favorites places to visit while in Cali

The Kid in me…

Also while on Melrose I made a pit stop at Bathing Ape and KidRobot. You probably remember this post about how I periodically by some of their pieces.. Again, Kidrobot doesn’t let down on their packaging. I’ll post my new toy soon. (click for more pics)

and then there’s Melrose…

Shot down to Melrose to hit up some of the boutiques.  One of my last stops was at the Crooks & Castles flagship store. I left the store double fisted with bags in both hands. I mostly picked up some in-store exclusives for some  of my gangstas back home (click here for more pix)
